Helpful Tips on Renting Frame Tents and Structures

Tent rentals may be the best solution for outdoor events. They tend to be less expensive than renting a space in a facility for a large or medium event. Frame tents are light duty and structures are heavy duty, with rectangular aluminum beams. The following ideas will help you to plan before you call.

 1)      Location(s) available

Make sure you know the area that will be used for the tent. Is it on a hard surface, on grass, gravel, etc. Measure the area by length and width. If you have an alternative space, measure that also.

 2)      Know the look you want

For a formal affair such as a wedding, you can add amenities such as a taffeta liner, leg skirts, chandeliers, window walls and a floor with carpeting for example. For a less formal event, you will want a simpler effect. The number of attendees will designate the size of the tent, along with the format of the event. For instance, many more people will be accommodated at a cocktail party than at a sit-down affair.

   3)      For larger events, you may need a structure. If the event includes food, you might need a cooking tent, a service tent, and possibly more.

 4)      Time of Day and Time of Year

This will determine if you will need lighting and what type, cooling or heating, sidewalls or no sidewalls, etc. Talk to someone that can guide you through and make the proper suggestions.

You may need a permit for the tent, and if you have a generator you may need another permit.  Make sure to ask your local fire and building inspector.
